Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do I need any experience to start?
No. The vast majority of our students start from zero. We adapt the programme to each student.
-
What should I wear for the first lesson?
Comfortable trousers (not stiff jeans), closed-toe shoes with a flat sole. We provide certified helmets and body protectors at no charge.
-
From what age can children start?
From age 5. We have specific programmes for young children with smaller horses adapted to their size.
-
Are lessons in English?
Yes. Miguel Alves teaches in Portuguese, English and French. International students are always welcome.
-
Can I do a single lesson before committing monthly?
Yes. A single beginner lesson (30 min, €40) is the ideal way to try riding before signing up for a monthly plan.
-
How long until I can canter?
It depends on each student, but most riders reach a controlled canter within 4–8 months of regular weekly practice.
